This page describes what Jathaka.com does with the details you type into a calculator. It is written to be read, not to be survived.

Birth details

A calculation needs a date, a time and a place. Those three values are sent to our own server, which runs the astrology engine and sends the chart back. They are used for that calculation and are not stored on the server afterwards.

The details you last calculated with are kept in your own browser, so a tool reopens on your chart instead of an empty panel. Nothing about that copy leaves your device. Clearing your browser's site data for Jathaka.com removes it.

Searching for a birth place

The place field suggests locations as you type. What you type in that field is sent to Google Maps Platform (the Places API) to fetch those suggestions and, once you pick one, its latitude and longitude. Google handles that text under its own Privacy Policy.

You do not have to use it. Typing the latitude and longitude by hand skips the place search entirely, and no request is made to Google.

Accounts

Signing in is optional — the free tools work without an account. If you do sign in, authentication is handled by Firebase Authentication (Google), and we store your account identifier, email address and display name so the site can recognise you on your next visit.

Who else is involved

Jathaka.com runs on Google Firebase — Hosting, Authentication, Cloud Firestore and Cloud Functions. Server-side data is held in the asia-south1 region (Mumbai). Google processes it as our infrastructure provider.

We do not sell your data, and we do not share it with anyone beyond the providers named on this page.
